The Simpli POS software is free forever — no setup fee, no monthly fee, no per-terminal fee. We only earn revenue when you choose to process credit card payments through our integrated merchant account. If you accept cash only, or use a third-party processor, Simpli POS costs you $0.
What do I pay if I want to accept credit cards?
Interchange-plus pricing: roughly Interchange + 0.30% + $0.10 per card-present transaction. There is no monthly fee. You apply through the app — our AI assistant guides you through the application, which is completed through our processor's secure form. What hardware do I need?
Whatever you already own — iPad (any generation supporting iPadOS 15+) or Android tablet. For card payments, any Bluetooth or USB EMV reader. No proprietary hardware required.
Does Simpli POS handle sales tax and compliance?
Yes. Simpli POS handles state and local sales tax, tipping conventions, and payroll/payment compliance — including tip-credit and tip-pool tracking aligned with labor law, and 1099-K-aware annual reporting.
How is Simpli POS different from Square or Toast?
Square offers a free POS but charges flat-rate processing (2.6% + 10¢), which is expensive at volume. Toast requires multi-year contracts and proprietary hardware. Simpli POS is free forever, uses interchange-plus processing (cheaper at volume), has no contract, and runs on hardware you already own.
